Hi, I'm Thomas Rivera and I work as web developer for AOL. I began my career in web development in 1998 at the height of the ".com" boom. Over the years millions have internet users have used the products that I have been involved in creating. Some of my most recent projects include AOL Television and SlashControl.com, both AOL products. It has been a very gratifying and exciting career and I look foward to creating more great websites.

Besides being a web developer I also help my commnunity by volunteering as a firefighter and emergency medical technician. As a member of the Bethpage Fire Department Engine Company 7 I stay involved by responding to fire alarms, auto accidents, rescue calls and any other incidents where fire department action is required. Of course, being a web developer, I have created and maintain or department website. You can see it here at www.bethpagefd.org.

Some of my other interest include drumming and fitness. I have spent many years studying and performing African drumming. Studying under a master drummer during my college years, travelling to Ghana West Africa on two occasions and performing with several ensembles I have become a skilled percussionist.

For the past 10 years I have found it very important for to keep fit by exercising and keeping active. I do my best to stay in shape by mountain biking, lifting weights, running, and walking.

Lastly, and most important is my family. As husband and recently now a father I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my family. We enjoy all the simple pleasures of life whether it be a family BBQ, a trip to the zoo, a weekend gettaway, or just a walk in the park.
